Website design for boutiques
A small clothing label competes with marketplaces that have far bigger budgets. It wins on the clothes and on trust, so the store has to show the product well and make paying feel completely ordinary, on a mid range phone.
Online store
A boutique needs a catalogue, a cart, a checkout and a payment gateway, with a basic admin panel for products, prices, stock and orders. That is the online store package.
Most abandoned carts come from a surprise at checkout: a delivery charge, a missing payment method or an unclear return policy. Stating all three before the cart, in plain words, removes the surprise.
Marketplaces bring traffic but own the customer. Your own store keeps the customer, the margin and the brand. Many labels run both, and use their own store for repeat buyers and Instagram followers.
