Website cost in India

What a website actually costs in India.

Indian web design agencies typically publish website costs from around ₹10,000 for a basic business site up to several lakh for a custom platform. Nirix Web builds small business websites for a fixed ₹3,000 to ₹10,000, one time, usually live in about ten working days.

Most cost guides you will find are written by agencies quoting their own floor. This one gives you the range other people publish, tells you what actually moves the number, and then shows ours, which is lower than all of them and fixed.

What moves the number

Five things decide what any website costs.

How many pages

The single biggest factor, and the one most quotes are really pricing. Three pages is a business that needs to exist properly online. Seven is a business with several services that each deserve explaining. Past that you are usually paying for content, not for design.

Whether you sell online

A store is a different kind of build: products, stock, a payment gateway, order handling and a great deal more testing. That is why ours is ₹10,000 and the other two are not, and why every agency price list has the same jump in it.

Whether you need to edit it yourself

An admin panel is the most commonly underestimated line on a quote. A static site has nothing to patch and loads in under a second; a site you can edit yourself needs a CMS built and maintained. We quote that as a paid extra rather than folding it into a headline price.

Custom design against a template

A template is cheap and looks like a template. Fully custom design costs what design costs. Most small businesses are best served in between: a real layout built around their actual content, which is what our packages are.

Who is doing the work

A freelancer, a two person studio and a fifty person agency have very different costs before anyone opens a laptop. Larger agencies are not overcharging you; they are pricing an account manager, a sales team and an office. Whether you need those is a fair question to ask.

What is not in the price

The costs that are genuinely not ours.

Domain name

Roughly ₹700 to ₹1,200 a year

Paid directly to the registrar, in your name. You own it, and you can move it anywhere without asking us.

Hosting

Free to a few hundred rupees a month

Our static sites host free on Vercel or Netlify at small business traffic. A store with a database costs more. Again, the account is yours.

Changes after launch

₹2,000 for up to five updates

No monthly fee and no contract. A year with nothing to change costs you nothing.

A CMS admin panel

Quoted per project

Only if you want to edit the site yourself. The price depends on how much of the site you want to control, so we quote it rather than guess.

Cost questions

The ones people actually search for.

What is the average cost of website design in India?

There is no surveyed average, and anyone quoting one to the rupee has made it up. What can be said is what agencies publish: Indian web design cost guides generally start around ₹10,000 for a basic business website, put a small ecommerce site in the tens of thousands, and run to several lakh for a custom platform. Freelancers quote lower. Nirix Web charges a fixed ₹3,000 for a three page site, ₹5,000 for seven pages and ₹10,000 for an online store, one time.

How much does a website cost for a small business in India?

For most small businesses the honest range is ₹3,000 to ₹30,000 depending on who builds it and how many pages you need. A three page site for a solo professional or a new business is at the bottom of that; a seven page site with individual service pages sits in the middle; an online store is the top. Our packages cover that whole span at ₹3,000, ₹5,000 and ₹10,000.

Why is Nirix Web cheaper than the prices I keep reading?

Three reasons, none of them a catch. We are two people, so there is no sales team or office in the price. We build static sites on the same foundation every time rather than starting from nothing, so the second site takes a fraction of the effort of the first. And we publish fixed prices instead of quoting each job, which removes the padding that goes into a quote written before anyone knows what you will accept.

Is the price really fixed, or is it a starting price?

Fixed. ₹3,000, ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 are one time payments covering design, build and launch, not deposits and not "from" prices. If your project genuinely needs something outside a package we quote it before any work starts, so the number you agree to is the number you pay.

What is the cheapest way to get a website in India?

A do-it-yourself website builder is cheapest in year one and usually costs more by year three, because you pay monthly forever and the site is only as good as the evening you had to build it. If your budget is genuinely under ₹3,000, start with a properly filled out Google Business profile, which is free and is where local customers actually look, and build the site when it will earn its cost back.

Do I pay anything monthly?

Nothing to us. Your domain is roughly ₹700 to ₹1,200 a year paid to the registrar, and hosting is free to a few hundred rupees a month depending on the site. Both accounts are in your name. Changes after launch are ₹2,000 for up to five, only when you want them.

How long does a website take to build?

About ten working days from the day we have your text and images, for the starter and business sites. Online stores take a little longer because of product setup and payment testing. You get a date on the first call.
